DBX 160x vs Warm Audio WA-2A on Male Vocal

Today’s episode is a comparison between the staple compressor DBX 160x and the new WA-2A compressor from Warm Audio.

The DBX 160X is a classic compressor that has earned it’s reputation and longevity in the recording studio. It’s not very expensive and very simple to use.

The Warm Audio WA-2A is not a clone, but inspired by the LA-2A, and in my own tests, the LA-2A sounds much different than the WA-2A. However, the compressor deserves a quick shootout to see how it sounds against a studio work horse.
